by Mindhunt on 08 December 2012 - 23:12
Organic from a 30 mile radius was what I was told and I just started. Will let you know how it works, keep fingers crossed.

Personally, my dogs can't take yogurt. I give a good spoon full of honey like I would take and my dogs are 80 and 96 lbs. I have never tried a comb, honey is a rarity in my area since Florida has been pesticide happy and killed off many of the bees, also the fleas that kill the bees seem to be resistant to the pesticides, imagine that lol.

do your dogs get itchy on yogurt or even russian yogurt or any kind of yogurt type products?

by TingiesandTails on 13 December 2012 - 19:12
My dogs don't have any issues with yogurt. I only feed it every now and then and I only use plain 3.5 % yogurt without sugar or honey.

What kind of allergies?
How would honey benefit the dog?
Yogurt is for digestion and gas and any plain yogurt will do that job.
I raised bees, never had a problem with fleas, mites yes but no fleas.
Many things are suspect as to the reason bees have been decimated and it is not over yet.

how do u get rid of mites or even know if u have them? what do bees do to fleas?

by Eldee on 14 December 2012 - 04:12
I give both my horses and dogs organic honey made from the bee hives on our farm everyday. i also give the dogs each a tablespoon of probiotic "lactose free" yogurt every night before bed. It should be lactose free yogurt as dogs do not produce the enzyme lactase to digest lactose. Organic unpasturized honey is very healthy for humans and animals.

Destiny,
mindhunt mentioned fleas killing bees, I've never heard that before, mites yes, mites can devestate a hive, and the treatment for the hive is mostly chemicals.
Honey shouldn't hurt any animal, I was just wondering what if any benefit it might have for the animal.
Full cycle honey is best in that it will not crystalize and it has been once refined since originally produced, the bees recycle it.
I know people who eat bee pollen but couldn't tell you if it actually helps in any way.
