Grafental bred East german working lines. Many of the ddr kennels switched to show lines are they wall because on money. Show lines bring higher prices more sales. The Grafental kennel continued to breed both working and show lines till today. Some say they are a showline and that they were always a showline, but it seems suspect to me that in that society there was much of a "showline crowd" as we know it. Am I wrong? The only personal knowledge I have of them is with dogs from well after the reunification of Germany. Just curious.
