Those can be in your rice they can be in your cerial. i would check around your house before you blame fully on royal canin. we got them from a bag of flour and they where everywhere on the celing ect. they are moths. you should keep your dog food in sealed containers not just a bag i put them in a tight closing metal trash can.

Also they have traps that will kill them off they are called something line pantry traps or w/e very common infestation hard to get rid of w/o the traps we had to freeze all of our flour and rice and not eat cerial for a month to get rid of them lol

Looks more like a maggot than a worm.

These are commonly found in products that have grain in them like flour, rice, cereals and so forth.

It's a moth larva that infest grain. It is possiable to find them in many products. And as the other poster mentioned, it could be from something already in your home. Like flour or cereal. If the bag was damaged or the moth was just lucky enough to land in the beg before it was sealed it could have laid eggs in the product. On the positive side its live free protien for the dog. Pantry moths are a real pest, but totally harmless. Check for open bage of grain, flour or even spices in your home. If everything is clean then return the beg before they infest your house.
Also freezing the bag will kill the bugs. I freeze all my bird and rodent feed due to these moths.
Good luck

If you opened a sealed bag and those worms were in it, return it to the store.  I'm sure they'll give you a replacement.
