are the malinolis used in sports like french ringsport working line?  Will they develop their natural territorial instinct and guard a compound or property when they are fully grown?  thanks

Depends on how you define working line, and the individual dog.  What is your definition of "working lines", sounds like you don't include things like French Ring, Belgian Ring, KNPV, etc in "working lines" because they are sports??  We have a dog in our FR club (Taser du Dantero) who is a "sport dog".  His brother Terrantino is a police dog.  So if Taser were to be bred, is that a working line by your definition?

There are many litters of Malinois where some pups go into FR, MR, BR, etc homes and other pups go into police, personal protection, military applications.  There are also individual dogs that do both (police dog during the day, Ring dog on the weekends), although that is mainly in Europe, it's not allowed by most departments in the US.  Most are going to have some level of territorial instinct and protect their home/yard.  Although I have met a few who would have happily shown someone the family jewels and helped them carry them out.  I had a female that I put an FRIII on who is  very social and lacking any real aggression.  She will bark in the yard, but I wouldn't take her down a dark alley.  She did however produce mulitple police and personal protection dogs.  Her brother on the other hand, who is also FRIII, is not a social dog at all, only a few people can handle him and he'd easily guard a compound or property.  Lots of examples like this.

thanks for the enlightenment, that agression, territorial, and  guarding instinct may vary in every individual.  What's the difference among the lines like french line, belgian line, the dutch line and the KNPV.  And most KNPV looks like they have mix blood in them?
