Well, we were sky high when we did the BH, got 3 trophies at regionals for IPO1.  And a new bitter taste of defeat with the IPO2.  I would have to double check the scores but i think they were 8-83-92.
Our regional scores for the 1 were 97-89-95, so a big fall from just a couple months ago,

I think the distraction of having my 3 year old at the trial when he was tracking was too much distraction. And all of a sudden he forgot tracking and it was playtime as soon as he heard her voice when he was on the first leg.  lol.   Well i guess you learn from your losses more than your victories.

I plan on getting more trophies so i cant wait till next year to kick arse.  Tracking is one of his strong points so a little disappointed today.  Just got to lick our wounds and come back strong next time.

It happens to the best of competitors.

Nadeem -

The fact that you actually work and compete with your dog (while others only talk about it) makes you a Winner.

It is never easy to work in front of other people, those that can (yourself) do, those that can’t don’t.

Keep up the good work!  And keep having fun with your dog.

Nadeem6  I can beat you.  Years ago I was about to walk into an AKC show ring with my Dobie.  another male was right behind him.  I was all focused on what was happening in the ring and all of a sudden I notice my leg getting warm.  My Dobie had Hiked his leg and was peeing on me.  I was extremely embarrassed, then several others told me about embarrassing things that had happened to them.  Mine felt very minor by comparison.  though I don't remember any of the stories they told me but I sure remember what happened to me.

I would certainly not claim that as a defeat, another training and learning experience on your way to victory.
As was already said, YOU are out there doing it with your dogs. Be proud of yourself and your dog.
I failed my dog big time just trying for the BH.I made a complete ass of myself when I got so nervous, I forgot everything and couldn't even tell the difference from right and left, but you know what,
I tried, and my dog didn't care, we had fun, and I met a few terrific people in the process.
As long as you enjoyed it, "that's" what it's about in the end.
Best of luck to you in the next round....

Hey, look at your scores in protection and ob. Leave your 3 year old at home next time, and you'll likely ace the tracking!

Good luck!

You never know what's gonna happen. Today at training, we had a lot of seagulls swooping around the field, and making noise. One guy's dog had a terrible time ignoring them during his track!

Just work the tracking a little more often and you'll be fine!

Just as likely the three year old distracted you both!

While I would love to have my husband and son out to cheer me on at trials and be support system I have always had to banish them from trial time because it is just impossible for me to turn off 'Mommy' ears when I know my son is around.

Nadeem...as others have said...I would not call this a defeat...but a learning experience.

I have competed at many horse events and have had good and bad events......Often times going home with a "what the hell just happened feeling" or a "I can't believe that happened feeling"....but they were all learning (albeit painful) experiences that helped prepare and give me confidence for the next event.

So hold your head high....you are already a success and have much to be proud of..... and know that we are all cheering for you and can't wait to here about your next adventure.

Take Care,
Cheri
