Three Shires IPO Trial 3/11/12 (UK) - Page 1

Had a super day today, both Damian and Byron passed BH, I was so proud that the judge graded all Damian's obedience exercises as either Excellent or high very good.

 

The general spirit at the trial was friendly and supportive, participants were from both BAGSD and GSDL.  Our Judge, Gavin Smith (GSDL) was very helpful and encouraging and our Helper, Paul Howard very professional and correct in his work, a huge thank you to them both.  Our own Mike Howard from the WorldwideGSD forum passed his BH with a very smart and enthusiastic round from his homebred bitch, Asti, very well named as she just fizzes with enthusiasm, I was especially pleased as she is a grandaughter of my Angus.  From our sister club, East Anglia, Mari with her Giant Schnauzer got a creditable 89 points in Obedience and Terry with her GSD that is storming her way up in Competition Obedience got a brilliant 95 points, no easy feat under a strict judge like Gavin.  Ulf and GSD Hexe qualified IPO 1 with 253 points and Wili with his Malinois, Rita, also qualified with 260 points, great achievement for a dog and handler who are actually in the security industry, not dogsport - a good reflection of the way  security dog training is going from strength to strength.

 

We are all exhausted now.

The BH failures were just unlucky on the day, they all had flashes of excellent work and all under control, but that's dogs for you.
