....psych! Got your attention though huh? I got this old dog for free on Craigslist. He is 11 years young. I took him to the vet yesterday and besides a few minor things we aren't going to touch due to his age he is in good shape for 11 years and fat. I'm going to take about 12 lbs off him. After the vet I bathed, fluffed, and brushed him. Luckily the previous owners were using good food (albeit way too much) so his teeth and coat are in good shape. Heck I might even take him to Schutzhund and let him play obedience and protection! He is listed as available through our local GSD rescue because he was living with a bunch of cats and we basically have a waiting list for cat-safe GSDs but I am otherwise fostering (or keeping) him indefinitely.

He's been around the block quite a bit. He was sort of dumped on the people I got him from. He's been a stray, been in a shelter, you name it. Of course he's the nicest dog ever and even at 11 years old wants to play fetch and tug. He doesn't know me from Adam (I got him Monday night) but yesterday he let us poke him with needles (he needed blood draws, biopsy, vaccine), hack off his nails which were like an inch too long, clean his ears which look like they haven't been cleaned in 5 years. Those first two pics I took after all that torture in a totally new place with totally new people and he just wants to have fun. Oh well, their loss is someone else's gain!

Ah I love the seniors!!!!!!!!!! Kudos to you for taking him in. How nice for after all he has been through he now has his forever home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
