Almost definitely NOT a long coat. That pup is going to be plush coated, not long.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like the pup has longer toe hair...might be pretty plush coated. Could also be the angle of the picture. Not a true longhair, but possibly "coated."

In the Shiloh breed, dogs are referred to as either smooth coated (standard 'stock' coat) or plush (long coat). Occasionally, a pup comes along that is sort of halfway between the two. Someone coined the term "smush" for these pups. That could be the case with this pup. I dont think he's a long coat, just a very fuzzy stock coat. Maybe his body knows 'winter is coming'! Does he live where fall temperatures are getting very cool at night, and is he kept outside? That would contribute to the coat being longer and denser.

This puppy is not a long coat.
Might be just a thicker regular coat.

This is actually a female puppy, my 1st born in my litter. She looks different (coat) than all of the other ones. They go outside when they please...at cold temps and at night they only stay indoors
