Her name is Jersey, and at 8 years of age, she is just nudging the edge of the senior years.

For eight years, Jersey was a beloved and loyal companion, but today, she is a scared, confused dog who is homeless.

This stunning German shepherd was recently surrendered to a New Jersey facility when her owner became too ill to care for her any longer.

Jersey is a favorite of the volunteers at the facility - the same volunteers who are desperately trying to find her a safe place to go.

Those who have met her describe a dog who is friendly, but depressed and bewildered.

Jersey appears to get along with other dogs and there are no other behavior notes of concern.

What is known is that this regal girl desperately wants to go home.

Joni, Kitkat emailed me this morning to say she would take this girl. I wrote to Sherry to ask if anyone could help transport to Joni. I am waiting for an answer.

Sherry just emailed me. There is someone coming to foster her this week-end with the hopes that Jersey will fit inot her pack so she can adopt her :)
