This is our kind of dog, folks. He is Rescue Only because Devore in one of the LA shelters that deems any dog that looks at the staff funny from behind the bars, which most of our working dogs will in that situation, as "aggressive", and puts them at the top of the kill list. He is a gorgeous young sable dog, takes treats gently, appears healthy. If I had room, or could place Indy (female rescue, ready to go) I would take him in a heartbeat. I hope he sees tomorrow, but even if he does, he probably won't see the day after in that kill-happy shelter.

If someone can get him here, I'll commit. Unfortunately, I'm in NC, so transport will be the biggest problem.

I wouldn't know how to get him to you without flying him, which is over $400.00. I'm just sick over this boy. If only I had one more kennel run!

This is why we need a transport coordinator! Someone who could join the volunteer yahoo groups tansports lists and do run sheets...

Marjorie, if I was not up to my elbows in school work, I would absolutely coordinate transport. Going to school while the kids are in school is much more
time consuming then originally planned though... plus I'm a week behind :(

Steph is in Montana :( I wish I had rescue contacts in Ca, but I dont. LOL- the GSD rescues, there, dont even call back people who have inquired about adopting from them! :( This is one handome boy- anyway to buy time buy sponsoring?

Good news. A friend in rescue down in LA is on his way to go get Barli for me. I don't know how I'm going to get him up here yet, and I have to put another run together out back in the meantime, (he's going into boarding till transport can be arranged) but he will be safe here. Don't ask me what I'm gonna give up to add another dog, (forget getting the spare car fixed) but I'm a sucker for a sable working dog.
