As most of you guys know I went to the GSDCA Nationals in the Denver area these past few days. I am not going to get into the dogs handlers or any of that. There is a dog who I have been very interested in and got to see him Sat--he is everything I thought he would be. Have never been to Colorado before--the scenery was awesome--got to make a trip to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park and just loved it.

Now let's get to the meat of this post--my 14 week old DeJa puppy. Of course she made the trip with us. I am so so proud of her and how calm she was about everything going on. She made many new friends, both 2 legged and 4 legged. At first she was a little reluctant about things but by the time it was over she was an old hand at potty times, riding in a crate and all the noise and things that go on at such an event. She even had eyes turning on her instead of what was going on in the ring. You know the walkers with the seat in them? well she felt it was her duty to stand up and put her front feet on the seat and "help" me push it. OMG--I am normally a person that avoids the limelight but when you have that going on and people pointing, what can you do but just be proud? LOL. So if any of the readers was there and saw this going on yes that was me and DeJa................I met a lot of nice people and found some brains to pick and actually DeJa and I spent more time socializing and doing brain picking then we did watching the dogs. It was a great opportunity for her and I am so glad I was able to take her.

Altho it's fun to get out and do a little traveling, there's no place like home. Didn't get pics but my friend here is going to get a couple of pics of her pushing the walker and I will post them in a day or so. Glad to be back and looking forward to more brags of my supergirl.........................

vonissk,

Too bad you don't have pictures.  Sounds like a worthwhile trip. Colorado Rockies are amazing! Good news about Deja Vu being a solid, good pup who is wiling to help out.  I'm not surprised you had a lot of attention outside the ring, lol! Clever

Thanks Bee. Yep the people I was traveling with never care much about pics. I know some people took pics but none that I felt like going up to and saying hey send me one for my onlines buddies to check out. She is just an amazing pupper and I am so proud of her and fall more in love with her every day. Yes puppies always get a lot of attention but when they yell LOOK AT ME, it's even more so.

Yes the Rockies are amazing. To see them on the tube is one thing but to be right there in their majesty and beauty and know that is only the foothills was just breathtaking. I have been to PA and the Poconos before but the Rockies far outshine them in beauty, IMO.

none of my dogs are subtle.  you sit there watching the show and they will be trying to get every last bit of attention they can.  makes them look love starved.

Ok yeah and I KNOW you are starving them and abusing them all the time. LOL  NOT!!!!!

All my dogs but my boy are real laid back at shows. They prefer to lay by my feet and just watch. But she was tired and had eaten right before we left so she decided a good sleep was in order................The old dog I had before these guys was a real sleeve freak and you had to put her where she couldn't see or hear other dogs on the field or she went crazy...................

Great.  I have been meaning to ask how things went; very busy lately.

LOL, wanna trade?  My 2 little heathens have reached the "let's see how far we can push Fawnda's patience today" stage.  Who's bright idea was it to have 2 puppies as the same time?!?   ThinkingTeeth Smile

Tee hee !  YOUR idea, as I recall ?  Go Cirberus and Max, mommy needs exercise.Wink Smile

Vonissk, your pup sounds like a riot, too.  Isn't it great when they get beyond baby stages
and start showing what they are made of ?   But I am having trouble picturing her with the
walker - wouldn't her weight on the seat push down on it, rather than push it along better ?

Hey Fawn, just to give you a Good Morning, now I will rag on you a little LOL. weren't you the one that bragged how great your dogs were at a year old? And then you want to trade these perfect puppies to me? No way honeybunny. Fawn I like you to death and if you and I were closer I could see us hanging together some and doing doggy stuff. But no way. Yours are getting to that stage--now when they are over it mine will be in that stage and THEN maybe I will trade. LOL..................I'll tell you how I deal with that stage. Before they reach it, I try to get the greatest foundation laid I can; when we hit that stage other than making them mind and do what we already know, I do very little new training. It's just too frustrating. I feel when it's frustrating I am always going backwards. Maybe that is the wrong way to do things but it seems to be working for me...................

Morning Hundmutter. Let me try to explain about this walker. It's not one with a little bitty seat--it has a big seat. I didn't look at the tag good but I bet it has a weight limit of 300#s. BTW it isn't mine--my home nurse loaned it to me because sometimes I give out and have no place to sit down when I am only using my cane. So with her being a baby yet and just having her front feet a little over the edge of it, I guess that light of a weight made no difference. I would say it is the Caddilac of walkers--I loved it and may eventually get one.

I am going to get a pic of her today when I take it out and return it so you can visually see what I am talking about. Monday I was still on a "just got home WOW" high. Yesterday the tired kicked in and I stayed home all day--no calls emails or anything. I had mid terms yesterday and fell asleep and missed that and now we are on fall break until; the 30th so I have that to look forward to when I go back. Cry Smile
Another brag on her was when I took her she was walking on the leash BUT doing the wrapping around my legs thing. After one day there she was walking very prettuly on my left side in perfect heel position. I think that walker helped that also because she had no way to get to my legs to wrap herself around them. I just know she is so smart and has that want to do the right thing attitude. It may not lasy forever but I am going to capitalize on it while I can!!!!!!!!!!!

For some reason I cannot post a pic so you will have to click on the link to see her helping me. BTW this is not something I taught her. She just did it. I know some dogs dislike motion but she seems to really like it--one of my recliners rocks and she puts her feet on it and makes it rock. She's only been on stairs once before and did well. Had to go to the lumberyard this morning and get a part for one of my DIY projects. I took her up the stairs there and it was like she had done it all her life..............
