Hi, I am looking for comments on my dogs pedigree. www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/486982.html ...I just joined the Schutzhund club and plan on titleing him. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me...I have owned GSD all my life but never did the schutzhund training. So far he seems like a great pup...a little laid back at times but other times he is off the hook...I am trying to channel his energy. His father just went VA2 in the NASS...Last year he was VA1. Thanks in advance, Rocket

Nice looking pup.I am no expert and I have never claimed to be one, but I see that he is only four months old.Maybe you should take it easy on him for a few more months. Quote:"a little laid back at times but other times he is off the hook...I am trying to channel his energy." What you said is true for any four month old of any breed. It is not impossible to channel his energy at this young age, but from what I here it can sometimes go the wrong way and ruin a pup. Take your time and most of all have fun. What's the point if you both(you and puppy) don't enjoy yourselves. You said you never did the Sch thing before. You should go to http://leerburg.com/dvd.htm and check out the large selection of DVD's he has for sale like "how to raise a working puppy", "first steps of bite training" and a lot more. Just remember have fun.

Well that sounds like good advice, picture is of pup at 10 weeks, as soon as I get a good shot of him stacked I will update the photo. I did buy a great sch training video...seems so easy on tape, but seem much harder in real life...but I am not giving up! Thaks for the advice. Rocket

Nice pup, I'd also like to add to mseebran said, Leerburgs videos are great for beginners, for "channelling" his energy I'd also take a look at their video "building drive and focus" with Bernhard Flinks. You can sometimes find their videos on ebay.

Be careful with Leerburg, sometimes Frawley is a little over the top.
