This is a portion of the article submitted by the German Shepherd Dog federation of South Africa in the Animal Talk. A national magazine for animal lovers. They register German Sheperds ....... Thought it was one breed.

I always find it funny when someone tells me they have a WL GSD because 4 generations back one dog was titled. Or because one dog is a titled SL dog that makes the pup a working dog.

In reference to the subject matter of this thread.
I guess we're going to back the Titanic up, and ram that iceberg again. LOL

I enjoyed reading your article Jim.
When I opened this thread, I didn't expect the newspaper to say that, that is for sure.

I don't think this thread will get any legs.....people that know the breed understand the reality of the breed today....let them live in their perceptions!

The problem with this article is:
1. How can the parents be inferior quality when they meet the requirements of the Federation
2. This is someones opinion and not the truth
3.You are telling the public our dogs are inferior, LIBEL
4. Putting the Federatrion in a bad light in the open media.
5. You are telling the public that I am being fraudulent.
And by saying in general they are not suitable as pets is just ridiculous. Alot of my pups go to pet homes and funny enough I have three people on my waiting list at the moment that currently want another because they like the one they have now and its the best dog they have ever had. Sometimes there is the one, but that could happen in the Showlines too. I have a breed bitch pup at the moment that probably be too much in a pet home.
I am a breeder of WORKING dogs in SA. We own the Universal Sieger Djuk vom Blauen Opal (BSP) V KKL1. Our females are Nora von Weinbergblick SG, SCHH2 KKL1. Ulla vom Weinbergblick SG, SCHH3, KKL1. This article now tells the general public that do not know any better that my dogs are infererior. To generalise like this is dangerous!
I have bred many a working dog not only for sport. Destiny von Ruhm, gold cross medal for detecting landmines in Iraq. Otzi von Ruhm, Detection Customs, Diablo von Ruhm detection all over Africa, Lestat, police dog in Denver Colorado, Otis von Ruhm, best police dog and handler 2009, Pretoria West, Qaiko von Ruhm, police dog, Ekululeni Bianca, customs Malaysia and the list goes on and on.
So I think I have the right to call myself a breeder of working dogs.

Hello to fellow german shepherd friends. It is sad that we have an opion from one individual who deems himself to be the so called authority on the German Shepherd.
The reason why this article was placed is very simple. The general public in South Africa that purchases german shepherd puppies do not want to run around show rings and have trophies on their mantle places. People are wanting quality dogs that meet the requirements of being a LOYAL protector coming from proven working lines.
This person who supposedly is the President of the GSD FEDERATION of SA HAS LOST SALES OF HIS INFERIOR QUALITY PUPPIES to the general public and this has FINANCIALLY HURT HIS POCKETS.
One begs to ask the following questions to him ;
1. Why hasn't the GSD FEDERATION of SA introduced elbow displaysia gradings ?
The answer is very simple. Its because the dogs owned by this person produces severe elbow dysplasia hence no gradings.
2. Dogs that are not of the so called " SHOW" kennels are never graded fairly.
3. Judges are told by this person to please give the so called " show " dogs their breed survey otherwise the Federation will lose
membership.
So my good friends these are the reasons we are here.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND NOTHING MORE
Regards
