I would like to thank administration of this site for giving me complete rights on religion/evolution as it would in the same way of how other members has rights to talk/post any other subject in Off-topic section.
sincerely,
Shtal.

Now if the rest of us only had a 'block' option...

Agreed!
I would use it more than a few times, I know it. And I would hope some people would use it on me! Life would be grand....

I have asked Oli about such a feature and he says hiding text is a huge no no with google and could possibly hurt pedigree database in the search ranking. End of story, my best advice is to ignore the people that get under your skin and it goes both ways. I think you will accomplish more by ignoring those that rub you raw of course unless you enjoy the drama.
Better yet, go over to the thread announcing the new beta and ask Oli to include a feature to ignore posters you don't want to read, my guess and this is only a gut feeling, most of you would not use it as then you wouldn't see what that person wrote. Drama is a terrible thing to waste for some, lol.
If Oli were to make an ignore feature, I would strongly advocate that even when not logged in you still would not be able to read the people on your ignore list. I would also suggest that admins have a way to add people to the community block list to take care of people who get into rants about any number of their dislikes. I would also ask for a list on a members profile only viewable by admins to show who was ignoring who.
BTW, Shtal you have no more rights than any other member. You make it sound as if you have some special right and that simply is not the case.

Why would you care who was ignoring whom?

by GSD Admin on 08 October 2012 - 22:10
Because we have to listen how members are stalking members and I think it matters. We can't know if a stalking request is valid unless we know if either party is blocking the other.
Why does it matter to you, what admins can and cannot see?

Just curious because I found the response very interesting. If a member thinks another member is stalking them and then ignores the stalker isn't the situation pretty much resolved?
It really doesn't matter to me. I don't care what the admins can see, I am sure you can see everything a member does, searches or anything and everything else. I simply assume there is no member privacy and I do not have any expectation of privacy on a moderated public internet forum.

On any website you have no privacy. Including yahoo, google, workingdogs or any site. Whether it is a forum, a dog site, an email site, a news site or for that matter any site on the web.
It is only interesting because you want to make it your business. This site like all sites has a right to track members/non-members moves.
You want to talk privacy, name one thing that we do that infringes on any members privacy? You can't, because we don't.
Again, you are very wrong as there is a lot we do not see. You want to twist it into something evil and scandalous and frankly you are dead wrong.

Well that is a shame, because I wasn't twisting anything or making anything scandalous. I never said that members privacy has been infringed on, just that I do not have any expectations of privacy on an internet forum. Sorry, I asked a question...mea culpa.

LMAO. Wasn't it you who wanted the flooders IP address? Talk about privacy. LOL.
Now I am done with this thread. You would not have asked the original question had you not had an issue. Also, you have deleted post after deleted post after deleted post getting digs on this site and the admins so now we are all to believe this is just oh so simple of a question. LOL
Play it off how you want as I didn't expect any different.
