Am I missing something? What is the big difference between these and is there a reason to use one over the other? I'm talking about only HomeAgain brand chips. They are both their "Universal World Chip" products. It seems that maybe not everyone yet has a scanner that will read the 134.2kHz ones?

Anyone who knows a good reason why one is superior to the other please let me know ASAP. I just ordered the 125s and need to change my order if the 134s are better. Thanks!

I would be interested in what you find out.  We just had our pup Thalia microchiped with one of the 134's from home again.  our vet's scanner couldn't pick it up to verify for the wda so we had to go to a different vet to be verified.

134.2 are the ISO chips frequency, the one that seems to become standard worldwide, espacially Europe. First only specific scanners could read each frequency, now you find scanners that will read all.

My ISO chips are a long number that includes a country code. That maybe the difference in the HomeAgain chips. The 125s I have seen had letters included and less of amount of numbers.

Yeah, that's about what I have come up with. I opted for the 125 because there still seem to be a lot of scanners out there that won't pick up the 134s. I worry about someone finding a dog and not knowing it's chipped because the scanner won't pick up the 134. I like it for international reasons, but the likelihood of them being lost in the US is higher, so I went with the old style 125kHz.

Thanks to both of you. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some other major deciding factor.

I was told that the wda wanted you to have a 15 digit and that was the only reason I chose the one I did.  I didn't see a 15 digit in the 125s.
