Newly trained and plans to arm them. If you liked the brownshirts, you will love these folks. All paid for by money borrowed from the fed which will have to repaid at interest.

FEMA Corp is not like the Nazi brownshirts. This is the original article before it was changed to read as Preston submitted. The photo was the same, I can't copy and paste here anymore except in simple form, so can't include that photo.
"Welcome to the FEMA Corps Inaugural Class September 14, 2012 2:05 pm Vicksburg, Miss., Sep. 13, 2012 -- FEMA Deputy Administrator Rich Serino gives the keynote address at the Induction Ceremony for the inaugural class of FEMA Corps members.
FEMA Corps members assist with disaster preparedness, response, and recovery activities, providing support in areas ranging from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovering centers to sharing valuable disaster preparedness and mitigation information with the public.
Originally posted by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Deputy Administrator Rich Serino on Thursday, August 13, 2012 Yesterday, we welcomed 231 energetic members into the first ever FEMA Corps class. The members just finished off their first month of training with our partners at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and are one step closer to working in the field on disaster response and recovery.
They will now head to FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness to spend the next two weeks training in their FEMA position-specific roles. Once they complete both the CNCS and FEMA training, these 231 dedicated FEMA Corps members will be qualified to work in one of a variety of disaster related roles, ranging from Community Relations to Disaster Recovery Center support.
FEMA Corps builds on the great work of AmeriCorps to establish a service cadre dedicated to disaster response and recover. To be sure, responding to disasters is nothing new for Americorps. In fact, the great work that AmeriCorps already does during disasters was the inspiration for FEMA Corps.
When I visited communities all over the country that were devastated by disasters, from Joplin, MO to Bastrop, Texas, I always encountered the incredible members of AmeriCorps lending a helping hand to survivors. I was continually struck by the level of compassion, dedication, and skill these members brought to the table.
The inductees are pioneers, combining the exceptional record of citizen service at AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps with FEMA’s specialized mission of supporting survivors with their recovery after a disaster. The new members, who range in age from 18-24 years old, will contribute to a dedicated, trained, and reliable disaster workforce by working full-time for ten months on federal disaster response and recovery efforts.
As we announced in March, FEMA Corps sets the foundation for a new generation of emergency managers; it promotes civic engagement and offers an educational and financial opportunity for young people; and is designed to strengthen the nation’s disaster response by supplementing FEMA’s existing Reservist workforce. I commend and thank every member of the inaugural class of FEMA Corps for their dedication to helping communities in need. Welcome to FEMA Corps! To learn more about the new program, visit the AmeriCorps website or our FEMA Corps page.

Hundmutter, Brownshirts is a reference to the Nazis party stormtroopers who wore brown. Review some history. It helps keep people from repeating it. And it will help you separate bull**** from fact!

This is old news, old information, and I don't care for it any more now than when I first heard of it.
Our local FEMA manager runs around all day in his big SUV on our dime doing nothing, he makes runs to traffic accidents and uses his vehicle for all of his personal needs, I see him mostly at the gas pump and the pizza place.
We have the Red Cross, we've had the Civil Defense, we have first responders, and in a pinch the national Guard, FEMA is just one more bureaucracy that we have to pay for and I've seen no improvement in services.
There is something about Americorps and Femacorps that just doesn't set well with me and perhaps it is the memory of the Nazi youth groups.
The government needs to leave our children alone, and stop wasting money.

Moons, yes, old ndews, but still new news because these organizations are active and growing. Under this USG plan boy scouts are being trained to fight "domestic terrorists" which include returning vets, Ron Paul supporters and dissidents who favor the Constitution. There are plans to arm some of these groups too. Another reason that Homeland Security (some call the New American Gestapo) is buying so many millions of rounds of ammo and so many guns. These are to be used against Americans, not a foreign enemy.
Folks needs to ask why, when and how and get some answers. The only difference between the USA and Germany in the 190's is that Germany was disarmed, while so far Americans have been able to keep their guns. Can you remember the Nazi Youth Corps, we now have our own version being built. If Obama is re-elected he may move this program ahead much faster. Of course there is the shadowy Infraguard which allegedly gives shoot to kill powers to corporate security under national emergency states and access to access to secret information collected on Americans. The so-called war on terror is a phoney, the only terrorism is done by gladio style govt linked groups, that's the way it has always been, especially the 911 attacks. So all this big Homeland Security buildup is for what? It is to protect the ruling super-elite power structure that fears the people revolting in coming years because they know something they aren't tellin us. What could that be? Perhaps complete economic collapse when the 750 trillion dollar international derivatives bubble pops?

Whether or not I agree with the FEMA Corp, I certainly would not equate it with any Nazi group. I was involved with FEMA in PA and the worst I ever saw were some locals jockeying for position, no different than anything else. Most felt it was their civic duty to contribute.

Sunsilver (I nearly wrote it 'SS' !) - I KNOW; I was trying to be funny.
Preston - if these kids can do some good community work, I don't see anything that says there HAS to
be a Machiavelian impulse behind this formation. ANY group could get used in a twisted way, if the
political will is there and society at large does not stand in the way. We can't NOT have every bright
idea going to waste, just in case there MIGHT be a conspiracy somewhere behind it. I'm not awfully
comfortable with the whole 'stick 'em in a uniform' thing, either, but they ain't getting mobilised otherwise,
sadly.
