Sadly, the great Karl Fueller from the Kirschental kennel in Germany passed away this morning.  He leaves a powerful legacy in his wake for his great contribution to the German Shepherd breed.  He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear this as those people are truly a GSD legend.  Will be sadly missed.  I absolutely love this picture of him and will put it in my favorite file.  RIP Shepherd Fuller.

Exactly what Jenn said--end of an era. RIP Karl, you did so much for the breed and will be missed.

How sad.  My dog is descended from his top female at the time.  Most of the other dogs in the pedigree are all the dogs he used in his breeding program.  My dog is awesome in sheep work.  Good to the sheep, but knows how to correctly discipline them.  Those that know this dog, as they know that the dog takes them to graze on good fresh green stuff and they complain if they cannot get to go with the dog.

Sorry to hear that a legend left us.  He left us with a number of good dogs and number of lessons what a good dog should be.  Rest in Peace and I am sure there will be a lot of your good shepherds waiting for you at the doors of heaven.

Karl did so much for the breed and will be missed.  He taught us that a dog can be very pretty and have work ethic.  He bred his dog to be what they are supposed to be.  RIP Karl you will never be forgotten.

Herr Füller is surely in his glory now, reunited with all the good dogs of his past who went on ahead of him; meanwhile, for his family, friends and admirers, as well as the dogs he left behind here, his effect on their lives will endure.  All honor to the dogs of Kirschental, and the man who guided them.
