This message was sent to me today by a friend. Contact Tommy or Ashley Winding River Kennel LC 1101 East Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64146 (816) 942-0971 2 Dogs: 2 gorgeous longcoat German Shepherds, males Buddy, 18 mo Polo, 4 yrs Problem: owner abandoned at boarding facility 6 months ago!! Status: will be turned over to AC for immediate euth. Friday 11-17 BUDDY AND POLO NEED YOUR HELP! Just got a call from a boarding facility where Buddy and Polo were abandoned LAST MAY!! Boarder has kept them as long as he can and will have them euthanized FRIDAY, NOV. 17 AT 1 P.M. if no one steps forward. I met both dogs today. Absolutely stunning. Here is what I know: ▪ seem very adoptable ▪ younger one is goofy, older one is calmer ▪ with a few -- ok, a lot of -- treats, both were soon leaning against me. Within an hour, we were cuddling and kissing ▪ were apparently in a home with small children ▪ not good with cats. Don't know about other small animals ▪ do not know how they get along with other dogs, will try to find out tomorrow (Wednesday, 11-15) ▪ not neutered, need full vetting ▪ Polo supposedly received $10,000 worth of training in Germany ▪ Buddy was supposed to be a show dog before he was abandoned ▪ owner moved to Germany, called frequently for a month, then vanished off the face of the earth. Please recognize this is all I know about these boys. THEY'RE VERY ATTACHED TO EACH OTHER AND WOULD LOVE TO STAY TOGETHER. BUT THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. ANYONE HAVE ROOM?

I certainly hope some of the larger outfits do, at least till they can be found new homes, both sound really adoptable.

Where are they located? Have we found out how they are with other dogs yet?

by mercedes1005 on 16 November 2006 - 20:11

They have been pulled, and are safe. Several rescues have offered to help. They are in Kansas City Mo. Is there a SchH club there that will be willing to test if these guys had bite training? That would REALLY help to get these guys going... You can call this lady to help out. There is a rescue Called Destinys that is trying to get these dogs, and shouldnt. If they have had training they need to go to arrpopriate homes. Nancy Campbell?cell 816. 686-8100?bbinancy@aol.com Kansas City, MO Thanks - Mercedes

Mercedes, do the rite thing by these boyz.

I am trying. If a SchH club there can test them out, maybe the club members there can foster until a permanant home can be found?! A dog that has had this type training should not go in an inexperienced home.. Is there anyone that can help? The Bicolor male looks like my KC (they could be litter mates its that close) and is DDR, he had the supposid training... The other is a poorly bred, but pretty showline. Dont think he had the training.. Any help to test the boyz would be greatly appreciated!
