Was wondering if you have a ling coat dog, can they work and be titled? Wondering what the rules are? Any opinions is welcome.

Long coats can and do work and can be titled as working dogs - I have one! Where the problem comes in is for titles relating to confirmation or breeding. The LC is not considered desirable, so they don't get approved. There were two threads recently that addressed the whole LC issue. Take a look at them - there was very good information in them.

Longcoats can work as much as the standard coats can... perfect example.. look at the dog Kalle vom Welzbachtal Hes 6xBSP, 3xWUSV, WUSV-Sieger 2002, BSP-3 2002 with SchH3, IPO3, FH1 you may view him at

What does threads mean?

by Vom Brunhaus on 15 November 2006 - 22:11
threads means posting on this board of messages or other.

Whoops - sorry. Threads are the different discussions that go on this site. You can go to GSD Database/Messageboard and look through the different things that have been posted. You can also do a search by putting in what you're looking for in the Quick Search box. So for this, you could put in "longcoat" and see what the results are.

Oops - I meant to say "search messageboard", not Quick Search...long day...

"The LC is not considered desirable" - NO...the LC is considered a fault.

I had a longhaar on the Police Dept. years ago he was a super guy. The decoy could break using gunfire and he would re-call half way down the track, and return to handler on command. His bitework was also super when he was allowed to hit, also a social dog and well loved by his Dept. members
