aargh! I am so angry! I called the shelter this morning and Cranberry's time is just about up. I could have had her on a transport last week and she could have been with Joni, already, but they said theywanted time to adopt her out locally. Hello? Now she is on death row. They cant even tell me if she has more than a day! It depends upon how crowded they are :( I put in a call to some people who are well connected in transport and who can pull. I asked the shelter if they could find a foster to hold her for transport, and now all their fosters are filled!!!! How ridiculous is this, when she could have bene safe with Joni! Now they insist upon a spay and vetting ($125) and I can get her safe but it will be double the money because she will now have to be transported ( more $) to a friend in Alabama who will hold her for transport, so transport expenses will be double- i think their transporters are $175- thats what they were last time. WHY couldnt they just let her go last week, when she could have been safe?????????? I know there were chip in offers, so please pm me and let me know who can chip in for her so I will know what I am dealing with. I n the last 2 weeks Ihave kicked in over $1000 for rescue out of my own pocket and my DH is gonna kill me if I take this on by myself.. However, I cant stand to see a good dog go down. She is sweet, laid back and heart worm negative. Any offers to help Cranberry get to Joni, please!

Been on the phone with the shelter, back and forth all morning. Got them to give her till Friday.  I explained i could have had her on a transport last week, where she would have been safe, and one day is not enough time to put plans in place. I committed to spaying her on Friday, so they will hold her until at least that time. I can board her for $10 a day in Carnesville, Ga which is a 50 minute ride from the shelter. I asked if any of their volunteers would be able to take her to Carnesville Ga and the answer was there is no one. Once in Carnesviile, she will be boarded until a tranpsort which will leave on Sept 14th from Commerce, Ga and arrive in NY on Sept 15where Joni will meet the transport. Of couse, now I have to find a way to get her from Gainesville to Carnesville and from Carnesville to Commerce ( a 45 minute trip) to get on the transport. My head is spinning and my stress level is through the roof :(

If someone can drive her north to NC, I can meet up and hold on to her for however long until further transport to
wherever it is she is supposed to be going? I don't have the funds to pitch in, but I'm closer to NY then Alabama.
I could also possibly run a leg of transport if you can get that set up. My time, my dime. I want to help out, but this
is about the extent of my ability. She has a nice place to stay in NC with good food, nice house, stay at home mom/student/
trainer and all of the toys she could possibly play with.

Cliffhanger!!! and the saga continues!!!! Someone came in today to look at cranberry. The woman was crazy for her. She brought her child and Cranberry was amazing with her child :) They played ball in the yard and all got along fine. The woman is coming back tomorrow with her husband to make their decision, as the husband wasnt able to come today. So- everything is on hold until tomorrow. I asked the shelter if we could possibly have more time, since I cant get a transport together in one day. She said she could put off spaying Cranberry until Monday, if they dont take her, to give me time to get a transport together. So- if the couple doesnt take  her, I will have  a choice of a Saturday pick-up or a Tuesday pick-up (which ever works best for transport). My friend Bobbi will hold for transport, in Alabama, so that will take a paid transport to get him to her. However, she will put him on a transport which she is already sending up to NY in 10 days so that wont need to be paid. Looks like a happy ending is very possible here :) I have the shelters word that Cranberry will be safe because of the time and effort I put into her.  Everyone, keep the fingers crossed that the coupe will adopt her, so she wont need to be bounced around. I am going to take a valium now ;)
