What about the almost 7 year old male for 10500 euro I think people are putting higher prices for there dogs so that others will think they are better than they are. Dog prices have went through the roof and with the rise of internet/overnight breeders/kennels they will even get higher. Integrety and hard work is almost gone now you can be a top breeder with out even knowing how to hold a leash, all you need is a few dogs that look and sound good in the descriptions and high placement on the search engines, boom you are a top breeder. While we are out in the rain and cold training our dogs ,they are in the warm house on the internet putting pictures of training that someone else is doing. I like to call it internet training.

what would you expect for 9,800.00 in a dog that is not even titled? why would anyone spend that much money in a dog? that's what i fail to understand; there's got to be something the seller thinks makes the dog worth that much, but i really don't see what. I couldn't see myself asking more than 5,000.00 for a top green dog and he would have to have hips done and passed.

I recently saw a book on Ebay with a starting price of ten million dollars, and it was written by the guy selling it. The theory being, it doesn;t hurt to ask. Or, the theory being, there is a fool born every day. Or, the theory being, I want to get noticed. Which ever theory the person selling these dogs mentioned, the only way to stop it is to charge for the ads. I really would not want that to happen, so I (and I assume everyone else (except maybe today's fool), will just ignore those ads, smile, and go about my business. Have to say though, they did get noticed and get some attention. Maybe that was the reason for doing it. Oh, one other reason people may ask those prices. To some people, ten thousand dollars is pocket change. A rich airhead like Paris Hilton may buy one on a whim, and then give it away next week.

Charging for ads could a good thing for all of "us".
Maybe a percentage of the asking price would help?
Just a tought.

its all about marketing. people on this site often ask what is working puppy worth. its worth what ever the market will bear. i typically see the general public, those new to the sport, or those that think more is better paying big money for puppies or young dogs. Just like i see those that market to the above mentioned folks charging a lot.
You also have to look at perspective, what has the person/breeder done, have they titled dogs bfore, have they competed at national and regional events. its a different story when you are standing at the center line w. a dog vs paying someone else to do it. im bet a NASCAR mechanic can tell you a car is drving well but shakes a little bit in turn 3, but until he has driven 200mph and taken turn 3 does he really appreciate what the driver is saying?
how can you know what a "top sport" dog is if you havent done anything top sport or at least tried
this is why i only trust what i see, if you have a dog for sale there is not reason what so ever not to have video, it takes all of 10 min. to put a short video on youtube. IMO this goes for puppies over 5 months old as well, as 8 wk old puppies you buy on potential, but after 5 months or so you should be able to post video of what youre claimng the dog to be. unless you have something to hide.
just my 2 cents

i guess there are educated and uneducated people who visit this website; i got angry thinking the ad was targeted to the educated people who know better, but i guess people like VMH are waiting for some amateur come up with the big bucks.
VMH, you haven't responded or gave your opinion on the matter yet,

I'm sure I will get heat out of this. However, more often than not it's the showline dogs that are over-priced. Some will think they are not worth that much.
I know that a dog out of the 4 top dogs in the WUSV, not the champion, was priced for 40,000 euros. !
where the hell prices are going!!!
