Very good news report.  The real problem may not be what Politicians promise or even desire to do, but what they end up being able to accomplish.  Some stretch the truth or outright lie just to get into office, but many probably have good intentions to start with at first which tresonate with the public's wishes. But once elected varuious power structure in place tend to severely limit their ability to really change things.  Several former Presidents have discussed this.  Ike was one and he felt very wary of the militry industrial congressional complex which was gearing up for 100% offensive war in a time of peace, which he felt was unnecessary and very dysfunctuional for the republic and American society.  He even warned of this danger in his last public speech and his warning were not heeded by congress.  When he spoke his advisors influenced him to remove the term "congressional" from his statement because they told him it would probably seriously damage the Republican party and he didn't want to do that. By anyone's estimate Ike went off the reservation and told the truth because he cared about America and its future.  He was warning what has happend to us now with int'l corporations creating unconstitutional, unprovoked, illegal, undeclared wars for mere war profiteering.  Ike was bigger thjan either party, his party the republicans or the Denocrats.  First and foremost he was a patriotic American hero that loved and obeyed the Constitution.  We need more Presidents and politicians in Congress and State govts like him.

As the general public we do not have enough background insider information to assess what is really possible from any new president.  We can only vote logically according to what believe to be true and hope for the best and then keep involved at a local level in the political process.  As some informed experts claim that both political parties work for the same super-elite power structure (int'l banking run out of the City of London financial district--a private corporation and separate country with its own police force and ambassadors, ie a separate nation state like the Vatican).   And former Min Governer Jesse ventura's latest book is based on that approach that the reblodicans and democrips arebasically two different gangs, like two different NYC mafia families, the gambinos versus the bonanos. Even if pols have great intentions they are often snagged or limited by the existing shadow govt power structure above them.  If true this means that the Presidents have limited power and in a sense are puppets of higher power structures.  If the public becomes fully informed and involved all this can be changed starting at the grass roots and working up. Consider what Iceland has done in the last two years, simply miraculous, they have taken back their country from the int'l banksters from "the City".
