pregnancy and appetite - Page 1

I have observed this over the last couple of years that females during the last two weeks of their pregnancy show no interest in eating at all. I believe this the time when a female should eat more but somehow its a very difficult time for both the dog and the owner. I was wondering how to overcome this loss of appetite thing. Dividing the meals into small portions works for one or two days and then dog just understands the trick and we come to the baseline again. Changing the food type everyday works to a certain extent. Pregnant bitches show least interest to high energy Royal Canin and more interested in eating Maxi Royal Canin. Do the dogs also have the same kind of problems as humans have that during pregnancy their smelling sense lead them to nausea and feelings related to it?
