Okay, I'm checking the flights and I realize I don't know how to book a pet flight, for the return trip... which airlines do you recommend? MSO to LGA .... Any help a.s.a.p. would be appreciated. Can it all be booked online? Or what?
If it is such a little puppy can I carry it on board in a soft kennel bag? Probably not, huh? Average flights with one stop are at least seven hours!
Thanks!

Missoula, Montana
Don't ask me where that is in Montana.... yet, LOL , I haven't got that far!
That is great news, I didn't want to stick him in a cargo! So, I don't need a hard crate at all!

Any GSD pup worth his salt is going to laugh at a soft kennel. I have to cable tie my hard kennels shut. Unless he's really really low key or comatose, I would not recommend getting on a plane with a GSD puppy in a bag. I'm not saying my pups are "normal" but even if he's only half as bad, a soft kennel is not going to be any match for him.

OK.. MSO ...
MRO is new zealand...
I'd look at frontier... they are my favorite.. no health certificate needed, carry on the plane, VERY pet friendly, and they hub here in Denver... layover and we can visit!!
Meet me in chat if youre on right now...

i'm not sure about international flights....
call the airlines that you are considering and ask what to do.
american, united, delta, maybe others - book reservations for in cabin pets ($125 to $150).
how old is this pup? if 8 or 9 weeks, its most likely small enough to put in an approved soft crate and take on bord with you. pup has to be small enough to stuff under the seat in front of you..
you must get the reservation for the pup when you make your reservation and you must have a health certificate. only one pet in allowed in cabin each flight and pet must stay in its crate.
last time i did this (14 months ago), they put us in the back of the plane and eventhough the plane was almost full, they left the seat next to me empty. i was able to open the kennel enough to let my pup's head out. i gave him a new chew toy for the actual plane ride and he seemed happy to just hang in the soft crate and chew....
expect security to be a complete pain. if the pup needs to go potty, find a family restroom and let it go there.....and be sure to clean up after it.

I just seen on the CBS News money tips that most airlines let you carry on dog in soft kennel for $125 to $250 . I would think an 8 week old pup should be able to make the trip on board with yyou. Just be sure to let him whoop it up with the other pups before heading out. Very Happy for you. You got a swell hubby too, pup and mini va-ca, Nice....

Has to be a soft kennel that will fit under the seat in front of you.
I've had several peoply fly out to pick up their pup and surprisingly the pup seems to sleep most of the way home. Just ask the person that you are picking him up from to have him use to a crate.
A couple of bones and toys and you are good to go.

Quick question..... how much does a 9 week GSD puppy usually weigh? ???
Nevermind. Flight is booked. Leaving LGA early Sat. I'll be in Missoula, by 12:30 pm. I'm on a United flight... booked the pet online, too. Have to get the proper carry on, and the seating charts are not satisfactory....can't sit with my kid. But that can be fixed sometimes at the airport... I could always pay for first class... but that is really $$$$.
Just need a limo, car, and the cabin reservations...next!
Anyone who wants to meet me in Denver for a quick lunch, you can meet puppy, too. I'll be there 12:30pm Monday the 17th.
My treat for anyone who shows up! Connect time, I only have ..... 1 hr. 49 minutes......
