OMG... this leaves me speechless.
Good grief, what a terrible thing to happen.

This is really, really sad
I hope that a family member will go get the dog out of the shelter, the couple gave their lives to save their dog, it would be even more tragic if the dog doesn't go home.

Ditto. Surely, some relative or friend will honor their memory by taking care of the dog that they loved so much.

this is a strange story. Who said they went in after the dog?

by VKGSDs on 22 August 2012 - 16:08
ILGSDs is right, the original article is misleading. Apparently the man was swimming with the dog when he had some sort of health problem (aneurism or heart attack or something) and the wife tried to save him. The dog was always swimming fine, the man had other health issues, and the woman could not save him or herself without a life presever.
