Any good news today?

Here's my good news. It's been a month since Trigger was shaved and his coat is starting to come back in. Must be his undercoat as it feels very dense and thick, but at least I can no longer see his skin. YAY!! Took this picture a few days ago.

he will have a full coat by late fall, just when he needs it.

i used to shave my aussie every spring (not quite as closely) and she loved it. in the winter i'd still shave her belly and private prarts. when she heard the clippers, she'd come running. by late fall, she had her thick long coat back and ready for the cooler weather.

this was much more tramatic for you than your dog.....

nice looking dog....

He looks good triodgirl, glad to see his hair coming back so nicely. I just clipped my big T- Bones hair all off. He had some thick burly hair, AND he got into the burdocks. What a nightmare. I have to say though, after he was done, he loved it ! I mean loved it. He is a Very Big Boy, older too, but he jumped and rolled around like a spring chicken. If I knew he was going to feel so good, I would have done it sooner.(I used a scissor, so it took awhile)

I have to admit, after the first few days, Trigger did seem happier. He did a lot more running and no longer hugged the AC vents. While I'll never go back to the vet who shaved him, I plan to keep his coat shorter. A scissors should work fine especially with the hair on his belly, and the fringe on his legs and ears. That's where the mats always start first.

I had to go back and find post on what happened, and OMG...sorry i had to laugh...especially about the puffy end on his tail...

thats just wrong..so wrong....but on a bright side, he is looking good for a shaved dog... :)

My sister told me that Trigger looked like a wild boar after he was shaved, especially from the back. So everytime I talk to my sister now, she makes snorting noises . Poor Trigger. That's why I'm so happy his coat is growing back.
