I am wanting to find a titled (at least sch2/ipo2) female with some excellant potential....what seems to be the lines everyone is looking for nowadays? I want to breed and also advance the tilte work of the dog.

I should look for quality, not for fashion of the day

duke, while that may be true......If you can find what you want in working ability, lines, health, AND color......Why not? That's the way I look at it anyway.

hhmmm , seems funny to me , I know a guy who had a great showlinebitch for sale, beautiful dog, great health super caracter for a showline, but couldnot sell her because the pedigree/parents were not HOT anymore, this amazes me, and in 25 plus years in dogs and many times in the USA , ive seen kennels dumping very good dogs to replace them with new, flavour of the day material, so maybe festnagler should look for what will be hot the next few years instead of what is hot today , because fads go fast

If you're looking for the "Flavor of the Month" type pedigrees...then look no farther then the BSP...

Most people who don't necessarily know the bloodlines or what they will or won't do for you will just look at the dog's results in the field...And think this is the best there is...

Pedigrees...Trial Results...Are only a tool...Or only a part of the equation to how or what you should or shouldn't breed...

As far as choosing a particular color or trait...It's up to the individual...Most serious trainers who want a Very Good dog for working...Trialing...Will have their #1 Priority as "Working Ability"...Then down the line maybe Color...or this or that...

Then breeding is a different story altogether...The best way to know what a dog breeds is to look at their history...What have they produced and how are they working...

When you're talking about breeding you must first know what is it that you're trying to produce...What's your goal...

I've talked to people who are breeding and ask them what's their Goal in breeding and they act like I'm saying something that's forgein...Maybe I am...

Hexe, I don't necessarily mean for breeding.......I just mean if someone wants a dog with certain traits.....and a certain physical appearance, like a dark sable, or black, or whatever it may be......If they can find it, go for it.  That's all I meant.

It's practically a guarantee to get a WL dog in sable or black anyway, just by default.  Bicolor's aren't so very common in breeder's lines, and Black/Tans are even rarer, except with showline crosses.  One with "excellent potential and lines everyone is looking for", sounds like a good candidate for a Bomber daughter out of an exceptional bitch.  With as many offspring as he's had, there "ought to be" some titled ones available.
