For my birthday, my husband rented an hour of pool time at a beautiful dock diving club so we could see if Bosco would enjoy it. We had an absolute blast! No matter what sport you participate in, I hope everyone has the opportunity to try dock diving with their dog(s). We can't wait to go back!

Since it's Friday, I thought I would post a short video clip or two of Bosco dock diving. Just a few more hours until the weekend. :)

Bosco's First Jump ...well, more of a fast slide into the pool.

A clip filmed from the front of the pool:

Completely hooked and want to see more? Need to kill some time? There are a few more clips filmed from different angles here.

Anyone else try dock diving? I'd love to see your pictures or video clips!

Popular here in the UK. My Labrador Sam jumping 26.5ft.....I remember his first competitive jump of 15ft so there is a technique and drive for the dogs to improve.
Good Luck

Dock diving is something we have thought about
trying, but I have had nothing but trouble trying to
get my young male into a pair of Speedo's without
squishing his junk and having wardrobe malfunctions.

And if thats not bad enough, he look just plain
stupid in one of those caps and the goggles.

Seriously though, it's a lot of good healthy fun for
owner and dog!

Mark - Super photo of your lab!

Bosco has a long way to go before he reaches 26.5 feet! For our first session, I just wanted to get him comfortable jumping off the dock. Martin is a mechanical engineer so I've seen him busily calculating where to set Bosco up on the dock, how to throw the toy, etc. to increase the length of his jump. (Insert me rolling my eyes here.)

workingdogz - I asked Martin but he's not willing to wear a Speedo and goggles in the next video. He's doesn't want the hassle of being a celebrity.

My pup's sire does dock diving!

Where did you go? The K9 County Inn?

PS, happy birthday!

Thanks Laura!  I almost missed the first one, too, had to hit the replay it happened all of a sudden.  It is nice you and Martin enjoy Bosco togetherness, so much!

LOL@Speedo's!  It is funny because the HS boys, to psyche each other out will choose the Speedo briefs over the Jammers. It is kind of like saying, "You know I'm fast if I'm wearing this!" The jammers actually reduce more drag.  I'll never forget timing for the first time, at the Yale 50 meter pool with the 15-18 y.o. boys. They were all wearing the speedo briefs. I just didn't know where to look half the time!   Well, all the time!

We went to Carney's K9 Swim Club- the property is just beautiful (it borders on a forest). We're already addicted!

@beetree - That's exactly how fast Bosco went off the dock! I had time to quickly snap one photo, hit the record button on my camera, and he slid into the water.

"Bosco togetherness" - LOL. LOL. Bosco is just so much fun! He's always game to try any crazy thing we want to do. We really appreciate how well his breeder matched us up (we asked the breeder to select a puppy for us).

Any more photos out there? I love water action shots!

We took our two GSDs dock diving again today and had a super time. What a great way to start a long weekend before the insanity of school begins on Tuesday!

While Senta refused to jump off the dock, she still had fun jumping off the exit ramp.

Senta: "No way Guy!"

Bosco is just a wildman. :)
