I,ve been able to actually track in green grass here in North East Indiana since last weekend!!! I thought I would never see grass again this summer. And it,s raining this morning with some thunder showers. Fiest looked like she had no idea what grass was!!!.

Anyone else greening up? I know Indy is still dry as a bone.

Bob, I live North of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and for the first time ever we have no grass in front of the house. It sure is ugly. Seems a large area of the NA continent could use lots of rain.
Good tracking.

I will try and send some rain over from the UK as we have plenty of it, long grass and mud. Glad you were able to get out tracking on some grass Bob and hope it continues for you . Happy tracking

FL is very green, but we have fireants here, so have to use liver or fish juice to lay the track. Otherwise the bait is covered with ants by the time the track is seasoned.

We tracked on Saturday at the University of Guelph Arboretum (SW Ontario, Canada) and it was bone dry. You can see how dry it is in the picture below - and this was a shady spot. We've been in dry conditions since the Spring (!) so Bosco has pretty much only tracked on parched grass.

[In case you are wondering what Martin is doing in the picture - he's an engineer so he maintains a very detailed tracking log book (with meticulous maps).]

Haha, Nellie, I hear you. Here in Alberta, Canada we track through long wet grass and mud puddles, too ....at least for now...

Just finished 5 days of tracking lessons in PA... lots of green grass though the temp was so high....

Our part of Texas is lush this year, so much different than last year!

We have nothing but dirt and crunchy grass here in Central Ks.  I was in Montana a couple of weeks ago and it was so green and lush there, sigh.  Snow melt, wish I had some.  Tracking around here will just get your dog a snoot full of dust, lots of sneezing.  Sux!!

Green grass?  Haven't seen it in months.  We have had a tiny bit of rain, but then get warm dry winds for several days which just sucks what ever moisture there is right out of the ground.
