When to Neuter???

I have a 3 month old male gsd., I was just wondering when is the best time to neuter., my vet has said to neuter around 6 months, but Ive heard it is better to let him finish is growth stage, and fully develop(18 months-2 years, not sure I could be wrong). Just wanted to hear other peoples opinions and suggestions. Thanks,

You are right to wait until he has finished growing. It's what I advise all my puppy buyers.

I like Males to look like a male, so when discussing when to Neuter My personal opinion is to wait till they have full growth which is 2 1/2 -3 years.

I also recommend waiting until fully mature.

My vet said the same thing over and over. Mine is going on 3 years old now. Im not in any hurry and neither is he.

Ditto on waiting till he matures- fully matures! Early neuter leads to a higher risk of osteosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma, and cruciate ligament tears.

I agree as well. Unless there are health issues, I do not neuter males.
