New to the forum, wanted to introduce my GSD. He's 16 months and a wonderful dog. Here is some background on his pedigree:

Very nice looking dog, and a very nice pedigree. Do you do any kind of work with him, such as personal protection, mondido or sch.? He sure does have a pedigree for it. Of course, even if he is just an inside house dog is ok also, as long as you are happy with him and he is happy with you. Good Luck with him.

Thanks for the kind compliments. Right now I'm focusing on obedience and some tracking. Eventually, we will do protection training with him for him to become a PPD as he matures. He has a great temperment, solid nerves, very social and learns really quickly. Loud noises, thunder, et.c, doesn't phase him. He is also territorial of the car and house as well as very dominant, so he requires strong handling. Interestingly enough, he's not handler aggressive, but if he senses unsureness or nervousness from you he will not listen.

GSDmax, if you want a personal protection dog and you are training him yourself, you will need to be sure that you are confident enough to train him. The GSD breed is a very smart breed and will feed off your emotions. So if you feel uneasy, unsure, or nervous, he will feel that way also. That does not make good for a personal protection dog. Actually its not good at all under any circumstances. Confidence is a MUST!
