As mentioned in this 'debate' juding IS NOT about, who turns up to show, or whether you like the judge or not, or any other silly reason. Judging is about being able to 'judge' which dog is OVERALL better than others, and to be able to put them in order of merit, first to last. So talking about winners of shows under the GB system is meaningless in some instances as some judges do take in to account handlers, owners and many other erroneous facts. These facts and the results therefrom have to be accepted as it is the system we operate. I am definitely not saying there is a better system as the German one is also flawed. I might not be happy about where my dog finished but he goes to a show to be shown and the result, however painful, is accepted although half heartedly if I, the owner, feels he did not get a fair deal.
All one can ask for in a judge is honesty, be they a good one or bad one (and this is an individual opinion). I agree with the point that it is crazy to have a post mortem of this type about individual shows/judges - what must the rest of the world think of us.
The choice at the end of the day is whether one enters again under someone they feel did not do their dog justice, ie is in the hands of the exhibitor.
