crazy for any number of reasons not to get this dog checked out by a vet., even if there isn't a great deal they can
do about it - they can check out the dislocation possibility, advise on how much crate-rest might be needed, etc.

I understand trying to save money where possible...but sometimes it's necessary to spend some to have a problem corrected...
Yes...I'm sure you could leave the toe as it is...but the dog might be in pain and it might cause more of a problem later on...Depending on how bad it is and what the dog does...
I would suggest taking the dog in and having a vet look at it and like I said...probably have it x-rayed and probably reset...

take dog to vet, have xray, if broken, it can be set and splinted, if dislocated it can be put back in place and splinted.......
