Really gg, you got that right ,Out with the OLD, in with the NEW. People should really follow that old adage "better to keep your mouth shut and let others think you are stupid, than open your your mouth and prove it".

Jesus doesn't condemn homosexuality? Are you to believe that only the "red letters" matter?

Well, where in the scriptures do we find Him giving authority for man to marry man or woman to marry woman? Where the scriptures are silent we are to be silent as it gives no authority.. Jesus did say however....

But Jesus said to them, “ Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6 But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. 7  For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, 8  and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

10 In the house the disciples began questioning Him about this again. 11 And He *said to them, “ Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; 12 and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.”

This speaks of male/female only, from the beginning they were to leave father and mother and be joined together. The bible NEVER, nor does Jesus EVER speak of it being okay for a man to marry a man or woman to woman.

Also Jesus Himself gave the apostles the authority to heal, do miracles, etc, and to teach the Kingdom of God

Luke 9:1-2
And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. 2 And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.

Also we must note that all scripture was inspired by God.

2 Timothy 3:14-17
You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Paul himself was converted (Formally known as Saul in Acts 9 where he was converted.....He had persecuted the church previously as mentioned in the beginning of Acts 8), preaching and teaching that Jesus is the Son of God,  and previously in verse 17  is where Paul received his site back and was filled with the Holy Spirit....Paul is one who has condemned homosexuality

Paul condemns homosexuality in Romans 1:18-32, verse 27 specifically.  And in 1 Corinthians 6 it condemns homosexuality....well, more so says those who practice it will not enter the Kingdom, and there are other places in the scriptures we could point to as well.

And I know.......people try to condemn the scriptures because they don't see things like miracles (false teachers do fake miracles today that aren't real of course), prophecies,  demon possessions, speaking in tongues (certain denominations claim they do this today, but yet.....No one understands them, and when in the scriptures it was done typically it was always understood, and it was "organized" and not people just babbling right and left like a bunch of lunatics....)  etc etc.  The thing is, these things don't happen today for a reason....

This reason being what is mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13:8-10 in context, it means the "perfect" (complete) revelation, after which the confirming signs and miracles are no longer necessary.  It can't mean heaven or the 2nd coming of Christm, as some argue, faith and hope will not "abide" then -- than which is seen is not hope (Romans 8:24) and faithis the substance of things not seen (Hb 11:1).

I've read the Bible quite a bit. I know it talks about it in the Old Testament but that's not what we're talking about. I have not read every word in the New Testament but I never remember a sermon, a Bible study or any reading that Jesus personally said anything about gays. The Old Testament is history--you can read it all you want and believe it all you want but that doesn't save your soul. According to the New Testament you have to believe Jesus is the Son of God and confess all your sins to become a Christian and guarantee yourself a place in heaven.................

Folks can choose to ignore, disagree, and even hate the teachings and standards of the Bible, but they can not, nor will they ever be able to change or deny what the Bible teaches and the standards it upholds..

Period! End of story!...

Don't shoot the messengers..

GSDguy08,,Nice post..
