I have just come indoors after tending to a poor beautiful dog (gsd x) that was dying on the road after getting knocked over, by a pasing car. The fireworks are so loud, I can only guess this dog fled from his home because of the fireworks. The owners brother arrived took the dog, he was still alive but I wouldnt think for much longer. What a sad, sad sight. :-(

FIRWORKS SERVE NO PURPOSE AND SHOULD BE BANNED !!!!!

People breeding dogs with no nerves should be banned from breeding. People not keeping their pets properly secured should be fined.

by Lewis_hartley on 05 November 2006 - 21:11

Yes but that cannot always be controlled. Some people dont intend to breed bad nerves. But i totally agree with having there dogs confined properly.

So if my lawnmower scares your dog and it runs away and gets hurt, it's my fault? Point is if you have a weak nerved dog you have to keep it safe, it's your responsability. People always want to blame everyone else.

by Rizzo on 05 November 2006 - 22:11

Slight difference between a lawnmower and fireworks I think. The noise from here is very loud, my dogs are indoors and fine but I can totally understand how it could upset some dogs. How can you label a dog weak nerved when it is exposed to something that is unusually and annoyingly well above it's usual noise level?

Keep your dog safe at all times. True if you don't socialize and expose your pups they may have problems. Part of my puppy training program is taking them to an airport and allow planes to fly right over their heads. They never even flinch. Of course they are older by the time I do this and are already used to gunfire etc...

Point is some of us enjoy fireworks or whatever so don't start trying to ban what I enjoy because your dog is weak nerved or not socialized properly. :)

by Lewis_hartley on 05 November 2006 - 23:11

Totally agree with Rizzo. And i think that should be the end of it before it becomes an argue.

by Lewis_hartley on 05 November 2006 - 23:11

Desert rangers obviously likes fireworks :) I have nothing against that. But my personal opinion is what is there purpose and to me they dont serve one. Thank you.
