Hi,
I have a 9.5 week GSD puppy whom I'm feeding Royal Canin Maxi Starter right now. I'm looking to move him either Royal Canin Medi Junior or Maxi Junior or the Royal Canin German Shepherd 30 puppy version. Unfortunately these are the best foods available here. I can get access to Taste of the Wild adult food, but I've had a lot of people as well as ToTW US recommend me not to use it until the puppy is 6 months old.
Could you please tell me what would be the best food I should move him to.
Thanks.

For processed granulated food, the above may be the only available options, if you purchase locally.
I will be in India for a while, and am here with my dogs and I used to feed them raw food in the US (along with a cup or so of Origen) but in India, have been feeding them liver, lung, tongue etc of chickens, goats, chicken neck meat/bones etc., lightly cooked, supplemented by fishoil, yogurt, eggs etc and that seem to be doing the trick. The dogs just love it.
I am slowly phasing out using Origen (I bought along a few bags of those from the US) and moving fully onto the lightly cooked meat.

Be very careful of cooking anything with bones in it; they harden very easily even under real hot water rinsing and you want to keep the bones fresh, raw, and in their natural state. BOL Nan
To the poster: Can you get THE Honest Kitchen, Stella & Cheweys, or Ziwi Peak in your country? Any and all of these would be good to feed or to add to your puppies diet. The Honest Kitchen might ship to you direct from their factory if you call them; or you can go on line to see the closest rep company near you. Not sure about the others but Ziwi Peak comes from New Zealand. Just a thought. Or you can get many recipe's on line for homemade diets. BOL, Nan
I would try to minimize the use of ANY US kibble, especially right now with the recall situation.

Unfortunately I don't get any of those foods in India. Also can't cook meat at home since my folks are vegetarian. This leaves me with only kibble options.
