OK thought I would try to lighten things up after the past few days...
Would like to hear what your goals are, as a Breeder or Owner...
Breeders, give basic run down of what you want to see coming from your dogs you produce.
Owners, would like to hear what if any goals you have with your dogs, ie, search and rescue, therapy, sch., show, agility, herding, and so on.
As a breeder... I would like to see more than anything our buyers Loving and Enjoying they're dogs to they're fullest. so far our buyers are enjoying sch sport, akc obedicence competitions, therapy dogs, and K-9's. I love receiving emails from our buyers that's the highlight of my days.
As an Owner... I most enjoy my cuddle time with all my babies, (even adults are babies to me) But I have alot of fun on sch. field, SAR training with my daughter, and the therapy work too. I love seeing the dogs with the kids at 4-H meetings and shows.
We really enjoy going to the play grounds and letting the dogs go down the slides with the kids, Oh my gosh it is so funny to watch them DRAG the kids back up the steps for another round... ROFL
OK lets hear from you :-)

My first litter I bred expecting great drive enough to work at anything. One pup went to S&R, one possible Sch/OB prospect, owner still isn't sure, the other is a family protector/15 yr old boys dog. Come spring we will be catching up with the pups and doing the OB training given as part of the package with the pups. Next litter will be from different stock totaly. More drive, more work, personal protection and sport dogs.
As an owner it apears I am looking for a dog for any occasion...lol. We have the lap dog, the family/child protector, the Sch titled dog, now I am searching for the dog with all of that. Looking for more drive than what I have now. My daughter also does OB and learning to show with her bitch in 4-H. She wants to get started in bitework, unfortunatly her dog isn't suited for that. All of the dogs get lots of park time and know all about slides and playground equipment.

My goal will be to breed from my young bitch in a couple of years time, as she is EVERYTHING I wanted in a GSD! I already had 3 male GSD's (who are all fab as well) but this bitch really has the 'WOW' factor for me. I seriously train her in Competetive Obedience, and have fun with agility & trials. We did do Schutzhund for a while which we both LOVED, and she was great at it, but there just wasnt enough hours in the day to dedicate to Schutzhund - maybe with my next pup I'll do Schutzhund instead of Comp Obedience - who knows! Anyhow - my goal is to reach the top of Obedience with her, and we will have loads of fun along the way. I love her temperment (its just right for me to handle)She looks fabulous, and boy have we bonded. When you have that true bond & respect for each other - nothing can beat it! Sharon x

My goals? Simple, really...
1st Place in the WUSV World Championship, with a VA-1 100% working line dog I bred myself...
THAT would be "fun."
:-D

Goals? What's wrong with just having a dog as a pet and loyal companion? Most of the breeders on this board make me feel as if I'm not good enough to even own one of your puppies because I don't have aspirations of winning first place in the show ring or putting a zillion titles on my dogs.

I hear ya Triode, if your not going to breed, you don't need titles. Showing for me, would be my worst nightmare. Lets just try not to make this thread negative. I think the winter blues are spreading. Even Sunny California is all wet and grey now.

Triode, That's the Best part of breeding is having a buyer LOVE they're dog !!! But there are those who aspirate to higher goals and "stronger" bonds by making they're dog a "working" partner, be it any of the above mentioned sports, or jobs. The bond you get with your dog from working with them day in and day out is incredible, but you know that dog is loved when it can look at "mommy or daddy" 's face and know exactly what they are thinking. LOL mine saw the panic in me at the BH, it was not at the time a laughing matter, but I can sit back now and breath. LOL
