Berry, the black German Shepherd who played the role of "Padfoot" in the Harry Potter movies, was found at a shelter this past weekend, and is now in need of a new home.
A dog that once graced the silver screen in the form of "Padfoot" (the dog form of Gary Oldman's character Sirius Black) from the Harry Potter movies is now in need of a new home after being found at an English dog rescue this past weekend.
According to a Fox News report, Berry, the German Shepherd in question, was given up by his former owner, stuntman Paul Thompson, after he could no longer care for the dog. Thompson went on to say that he could no longer care for Berry and another canine companion, Porridge properly due to constraints from his job.

Both pooches have a condition called chronic degenerative radiculomyelopathy, or CDRM, which makes it difficult for them to walk, but
“Berry’s not nearly as bad,” said Brown. “He just needs to build his muscle up and lose some weight.”

One man who supplied owls for the potter films was arrested over animal cruelty a few years back... am not sure how it all turned out though
I generally think the makers of the films took anyone on board who had working animals and i generally dont think they checked out their home enviroment prior to filming! I could be wrong but if they didnt then to me thats a big failure on animal protection in my book! ! !
