Small or Correct?

Hi Everyone, i just want some peoples opinion on this,
I have a 7 month old male(as of the 11th this month), i got him when he was 4 months old and he was really small, my vet had also said he had a slight flexor laxity or the front carpi.
I measured him and weighed him yesterday, he is 20 inches at the whithers and 60 pounds. Wherever i go people ask how old he is and when i tell them they all say oh is he ever small.
I just wanted to see what people had to say about his size??

He has 5 more months to grow into his full height, I say don't you worry, just enjoy these days as he grows, they'll never come back. Well known dogs in his pedigree.

Correct!

He doesn't seem to have a problem moving about, seems like the vet knew you
were concerned and needed to give you an answer.
I'm lucky I have a vet that breeds dogs herself and can answer my questions with
straight up honest answers, your dog either has laxity or not, sorry but I don't trust
some vets.

With that being said, your pup looks very handsome and his pedigree is also handsome,
please update us in a few more months.

I have a full grown male that weighs less than 80 pounds and his son weighs 75 pounds
at 21 months.

Some Czech dogs are smaller than you'd think. I have a great one that is only 33 kgs, 62cms to shoulder.

I've seen sons of your dog's sire, none were weak!

Correct. He is fine. Remember...the GSD was not bred to be the monster sized dog some people insist on breeding. He needs to be agile and able to work. Sounds about right to me. Enjoy him.

Trust, when he's 12 years old and needs a little boost to get up into the truck or onto the bed, you'll be much gladder of it if he's 65-75# than if he's 100#. The GSD is meant to be a medium sized dog, not a large one.

I hate wearing shoes (this is on-topic, I swear), and when the rescue I adopted last fall steps on my bare foot as he trots toward the door, I am reminded once again that despite the fact that he's actually svelte at 98#, it still hurts a lot more than when my 68# bitch does it!

I envy you. Your pups pedigree's heavenly. His sire, is one hell of a producer. I think that he'll grow to surprise you, seeing the dogs that are in his ped. The kennel he's from is known to output wonderful dogs.
