I am so sad to say that our little Milo died suddenly this week at 6 1/2 mos old.  We took both pups for a walk as we do every night and all seemed fine.  We did notice that he lost his footing a couple of times, but thought he might have just stepped on a rock or curb.  When we got home we let the dogs play for a few minutes and went inside.  I was sitting at the kitchen table and he was laying in the corner.  He let out a little moan and I went over to him.  He relived himself and couldn't get up, I bent down to comfort him and he died in my arms 10 secs later.  We took him to a local animal hospital to have a necropsy done.  The Dr said tha tthere was no intestinal twisting and no sign oif bockage or bloat. She did find an abnormal amount of hemmoraging in the lungs.  Tissue samples were snet out to the West Coast and hopefully we will have the results on Monday.  Needless to say we are all devestated.  Please keep Milo in your prayers and we hope hie will be waiting for us at the bridge :)

Here's pic I took of Milo 2 days before he passed....

I am so sorry for your loss. It's always hard to lose our beloved pets, but especially when they are so young and it's so unexpected.  I hope the cause of Milo's death can be determined. God speed beloved Milo.

Yes, I am sure your beautiful Milo will be waiting at the Bridge for you

Based on the little info available, he might have died of an internal bleed due to some cause.

Was it really hot that day? The lung stuff could have been caused by heatstroke, which can sneak up real quick on a dog.

The dogs were in most of the day and did not exercise at all during the heat of the day.  We walked them at 8 PM...nothing strenuous, just a walk.  My vet (did not do the necropsy) suspects

ventricular arrhythmias, but we won't know for sure until the results come back.

A heart problem could for sure cause the lung hemorrhage when he died. It's so hard not to know. Hope you get some answers soon. Sure am sorry you lost the little guy. Life just really sucks sometimes.
