Hi Michelle, I am a firm lover of the Grafental lines! Yes they are DDR, and frankly, having met a few of them, they are very nice dogs, lovely coloring, and wonderful drives! Personally, my favorite DDR stud dog is Puck Vom Grafental, not only is he gorgeous, but he's an overall nice boy! Krista blueskyekennels@msn.com

Krista, We have seen Puck and think he is very awesome. I haven't seen him work or in person, just pictures. We are thinking of getting a puppy this Christmas from him. Do you know of any pups that went on to earn their Sch titles?

by blueskyekennels on 31 October 2006 - 01:10

Sorry Flipfinish, I don't...but truth be told, I plan on using Puck for stud service in two years, I HIGHLY recommend him, as he was VERY HIGHLY recommended to me, by my breeder of my baby. I am so happy to have found another Puck lover! He is a handsome boy, but gosh I wish his Sire Larry Vom Wolfsec was still around...that boy stole my heart! Best darn temperament! I can tell you this though, you buy a Puck puppy, and want working drive, YOU WON'T BE SORRY! :) Krista blueskyekennels@msn.com

Reason I am asking guys, is I have a litter I am looking at, with this on the moms side. The rest of the lines I know about, this is a new one to me. Do they throw good temp and prey drive, or civil aggression? Hips, any problems run with this line? I need more info. Not looking for litters, thanks to all of you who have sent me info on litters already. I'm just puting more info in this small little head of mine. =)

Krista, Do you know the lady who owns Puck? She is great, and has always been very helpful. I am going back and forth between her upcoming Puck litter or the Bax litter. I was told that Bax (Czech) has a little more drive than Puck and that Puck might be a little "weaker" in the protection phase. But again I dont know, I have never seen him firsthand, either of them for that matter so I have to go on a little faith and a whole BUNCH of research. You have been emailing my wife (GSDLVR) I think?

by blueskyekennels on 31 October 2006 - 02:10

Yep, I sure have, your wife is a very nice person! Personally, I like Puck, and bax is just as gorgeous...But Puck has been bred to Otess, and I LOVE Otess, so I HIGHLY recommend the Otess and Puck litter, but thats just me, and whatever you decide, if you buy a Spartanville Shepherd you WON'T be sorry, all nice dogs, and a wonderful breeder! Just got your email. Now my wife wants that Bi-color you spoke of. I want and love black sables. Do you know if Bax has "more" drive than puck. I can see Bax in the videos on the website, but I dont see any videos of Puck. I like Otess as well, but I am torn between the two litters.

Bernd Günther is called the breeder. He has the 2 x GDR - bred Winners Bodo Gräfenthal. He remained his line loyal. He breeds pure GDR-line still today. Often gray and black dogs with very good work-disposition and good anatomy. If they want to know more, they ask me: klaus@hoechsmannshunde.de
