How many people out there have bred to this dog and what is thought of his progeny?
by flipfinish on 31 October 2006 - 01:10
I have never bred directly to him, but I have bred to some of the dogs in his pedigree. I know Tom (his father) is an awesome dog. The one I bred to was a son of Orry V Haus Antverpa and the prey drive was IMMENSE! No kidding, the female I kept went under my bed to kill my cats. Not a pretty sight, though I was proud of her determination. The only complaint I had was that the pups lacked the vocal nature I like, they popped their jaws on the pole more than barked. But many high prey driven dogs are like that. I would not hesitate to breed to him, but be ready for prey monsters. Hope that helps

You might want to check out his 3/4 brother Gringo - he is producing well - tons of drive and good consistancy. I have a Gringo daughter they have to drag her off the field whe they are finished working. Just got her BH (she was just short of 19 months and had only been working for less than 4 months) I can send you a link to her working if you email me!

I have looked at Gringo too. They all seem really driven and into the decoy's face. I like to see the dog looking the the decoy and not the arm.

I have heard that Gringo is a bit more serious in his protection work - maybe the Jago influence? My bitch has hgih prey, but is also very hard, will take alot of correction and is very serious about her protection work, which I would expect to get even stronger as she matures. I believe all her littermates are in "working" homes. 5 or 6 have their BH's already.

Hello 4pack, I have a 14 1/2 month old male from the Eros x Dinky van Hildernisse breeding. Diesel has recently obtained an SG conformation rating and has been training in Schutzhund Sport since 10 weeks old. He has a natural tracking ability, deep nose, methodic, easily food motivated, not distracted by outside elements, finishes the track wanting more. The obediance is attentive and fairly quick, he gives a nice picture. Protection work he is very solid nerved and focused, showes all that I like at this point. Overall summary he is a dominate meadium size male, very strong, pushy, a bit stuboran, more balanced prey and civil drive than the norm. Hope this helps. cueman_44601@yahoo.com Jim D. His pedigree is http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/457255.html

Thanks Cueman, that just the kind of rundown I was seeking. I'm glad you are happy with your dog.
