This is kinda silly but we can all use a bit of fun stuff now and then. I had this thought over the weekend watching mine just being themselves. You know, when they do that really endearing thing and all you can think is "boy, I just love you guys to pieces". I love watching them play tag around the fish pond and in the bushes. Then they use me as the "safe" place. I find it just hilarious!

I like how my 4 yr old stud prances around with perfect movement with a toy ,and then gets such a cute look in his face like a puppy and pounces down like he was landing on something. So cute! Also when I throw the ball for him his focus is intense and I like how the puppy positions herself to tackle him when I throw the toy { of course she never succeeds } very cute Another one likes to find a pinecone put it on her front foot then stare at it ,then flip it away so she can chase it.

My time is when I sit down for the night and he climbs on the couch and puts his head on my lap. He looks up at me and I swear I see Heaven in those brown pools. I often wonder what he is saying...beside "pet me" lol Big scary protection dog....not at that moment.

My favorite time is all of the time. Can you imagine Heaven being Heaven, without your dog?

I like Blitz best when he's sleeping which doesn't happen nearly often enough LOL.

Do Right - nope, can't imagine that for an instant! It's so funny how very goofy these EXTREMELY dignified dogs can be. One of my current kittens(actually she's about 10 months old) LOVES my big guy. He can be sleeping in the florida room and she'll come up next to him and start kneading on him - she's 5 lbs, he's 92. Too cute and funny...

Catching moments of them with the kids when neither know it... I love to watch our male play "you can't catch me" with my 10 yr old son. It's hilarious! He actually lets him get close while he prances around with anything really (stick, toy, ball, something he thinks us humans would like to have, i.e.: a piece of the drainage duct from our house LOL) and my son will take a dive knowing he is going to land on him and our male tucks his butt under at the last second and my son misses him by a fraction. I swear that dog is laughing. It is the funniest thing to watch! ...Then there's the moment I caught the other day with my 2 yr old sitting on the edge of the sandbox playing with his bulldozer...he was on the EDGE of the sandbox because our noble, regal, kingly GSD was lying down in the MIDDLE of the sandbox "hanging out" with him. They looked like they were best friends with an understanding - they didn't have to say a word to each other - just liked being together. I had to sneak so as not to make a move or a sound (he would jump out and stand guard!) and take photos through the window, for my male would NEVER allow us adults to see him in such a humble state! :)

Gotta be playing at bite work. I swear I get a high from watching my girl, normally the sweetest pup, hit the sleeve with enough force to knock a 6'4" 200 lb man (me) off his feet. Wow, always amazed.

It's so hard to pick just one. One of my favorites can also be one of the least favorite! Skijoring (person on skiis being pulled by a dog in harness) in great snow condition, and snow is falling on my eyelashes, and no one else is out on the trail. I have two German Shepherd working line dogs pulling perfectly in harness, going fast enough that I'm just a little scared. Now envision above-- I hit an unexpected bump---CRASH!! As it is on snow, the bruise isn't too bad, but now I have snow in eyes, nose, mouth and somehow, even though I wore a cap, in my ears...the dogs are coming back to me to see what the heck's the matter with me, tug lines all tangled, dogs kinda laughing at me.... Then there's the moments when I tuck my daughter in bed, Jaks sleeping beside her with his head on HIS pillow too...I give her a good night kiss...Jaks stretches his muzzle out for HIS goodnight kiss too :-) Big Bad Protection dog moment....

Walking in the counrty, in fall, with my dogs is one of my favorites. When they hear the ground squirls chirp an alarm, they snap a look at me, waiting for me to say "go get em"! Running along the flooded fields, making the ducks circle the sky, until we move on. Also playing in the snow with my dogs is always a favorite. It's close to snow season here. Maybe closer to Thanksgiving, we can all drive up the mountain and snow shoe through the forest again. I have some of the best pictures and video of my dogs doing this last year. My daughters dog Bax, will catch an enless # of snowballs out of the air. We can even shake the trees and she will try to catch all the snow that falls out. It's nice to take them anywhere and let them offleash to have fun. I love to see them venture out, sniffing up all sorts of good things and then coming back to check up on mom, then off for more fun again.
