Will the Belgian Malinois remain the same few decades from now?  It is very visible how some breeds changed in just a short time.  Like the  german shepherd dog as an example, they changed a lot compared to the GSD of earlier decades.  Personally, I like the old type, they are kind of well proportioned and healthier looking.

I am not sure. Right now the Malinois is THE epitome of the working dog, but, its "show fans" are not that many. Most, if not all working Mali nois are not registered, that keeps more non working people away. The dog itself is not as attractive looking as the non AKC GSD, another big plus. True Malinois are a pain in the ass to live with and they MUST work...not that many people would be interested in that either..
Thankfully, I have not seen very many as "pets", so, maybe the breed will remain what it is today as long as a few dedicated breeders continue to breed the Malinois I fell in love with over 33 years a go back in Europe.

hired dog,....amen to that.  It's kind of an irony but clearly the kennel clubs that is supposed to protect the breed, actually ruined them.  From one of the most magnificent breed GSD become slab-sided, hunch back, knock-kneed, and wobbly squatwalkers, and they say that this is the way GSD should look like, if yours don't look like this, yours is wrong.  And some breed originally made as guard dogs/working dogs are losing courage and instinct, and are saying that these are agressive behavior and a fault.  IMO most of the decent specimens of the breed can be found in the working line rather than the so called show lines.

Just like the modern gamecock, show club said that a modern gamecock should be stork legged that is longer vertically than horizontally, that is very ugly that I can't find words to describe them, and seems to trip on their own shadow when they walk, and I don't know what will happen to them when they fight.  How could they call them a gamecock?
