Just wondering what paper work is needed for a dog to gain either KKL1 or 2. Do you need anything other than UK Kc papers, im guessing you need something from the SV ?

Thanks,

Thank you, can the x-rays taken for the bva hip & elbow score scheme be sent to the SV for the Astamp ?

I'm not sure... might be an idea to ask a vet that specialises in BVA and SV xrays.  I always keep the 'second' plate - the best plate goes to BVA but they come back marked (where they measure the norberg angle) so I would pressume new plates would be needed, (I wouldn't send my 'second' plates in, unless there was very little between the quality) I could be wrong.

Is it true that both parents need to have KKL1 in order for a dog to get it too ???

There is something about grandparents having to be sv registered or something along those lines for a dog to gain it's life koerung - but I don't recall the ins and outs.  i'll ask advice and point someone in this direction that can help you out better.

no, parents don't have to have a Kkl for their progeny to breed surveyed, the regulations pertain to the VA status at the Siegershow.

BVA x-rays are not suitable to be submitted to the sv. Their requirements are different. Any vet in the UK who regularly submits x-rays to the BVA can do the plates for the sv, they just need to liaise with Mike Guilliard at Nantwich Veterinary Hospital for detailed instructions on what is required. As the document attached earlier in this thread indicates, you should contact Syd Farley for the necesssary forms.

Both parents do not have to be Kkl as noted by bea.

As secretary of the WUSV/GSDL-British Regional Group, we aim to assist all UK exhibitors and breeders with any queries regarding obtaining Koerung with their dogs. Please feel free to contact me mascani@btinternet.com and if I don't know the answer I will find out for you. You can find out more about the BRG via the GSD League of Great Britain website.
