Does anyone know if the 2011 or 2012 Honda Pilot will fit a pair of dog crates that are each 24" wide?  My wife and I are looking at the new Honda Pilot or Chevy Tahoe and would like to get two crates (side by side) into the back.  We have two transport boxes (heavy duty metal crates) that measure 38" L x 24" W x 30" H and want to be able to get them into our next SUV.

I have a Yukon XL and can carry three 400 crates and luggage for 4 comfortably. The Tahoe should give you more than enough room and you get the big vehicle ride and handling

Waldo.... I had the same dilemma so I went to the dealership, took the crates and tested the vehicles. The dealer figured I lost my mind and he was not going to argue with me at all!

I ended up wit a Jeep Cherokee, 2004 special edition (leather seats for my sanity) and I had two boxes custom made for me. They were made the red neck way...wooden boxes! Serving me and my dogs for the past 3 years. LOVE it

Someone told me the Kia Soul could hold 2 crates. I went and looked at one. NO WAY. My issue with a Tahoe is the gas. You're going to kill yourself with the MPG. I'd guess the Honda Pilot might be better on gas, but you'd have to look at the specs on the vehicle to be sure.

GSDPack - never thought of doing it the redneck way. I'll bet that saved a lot of money! How large did you manage to get the box for that Jeep?

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot and absolutely love the SUV.  I am not sure about the newer models but mine would only fit a medium wire crate since the ceiling sloped down but I was able to carry 4 GSDs comfortably with the seats folded down.  But they were loose, not crated.  Of course the H2 Hummer fits 4 large crates comfortably along with plenty of room for luggage.  Wish they hadn't been discontinued lol.

I have a Jeep Liberty 4x4 and it is great for transporting. Fits 2 crates and it is not too bad on gas.

I have two wooden boxes, one holds a 85 pound male (not extrmely roomy but good enough for training transportation) and a 70 pound female. Then If I put the seeds down I can fit 400 crate and another female in there. My jeep holds 3 adult GSD' and when I have a puppy I can shove it to another 300 crate on the front seat....yah, we Europeans sure know how to pack it LOL

I have a ford Transit connect.  A little funny looking but plenty of dog room.  And it is decent on gas.

I second just taking the crates and testing the vehicle that way. If they want to sell, they won't argue ;-)
