i bought a puppy for shutzhund and for family. Is it possible for her to be both. She has such a hard bite and would do well in shutzhund. she wont let anyone near her toys if you try to take them away but I have children also. She is fine with food can stick your hands all over in her food bowl.

A dog can absolutely be both a family and a schutzhund dog.
Gaurding the toys in the home is not appropriate behavior, even for a schutzhund dog. There is a difference between building a dog's drives for schutzhund work and allowing them to misbehave. It seems to me that you and your dog may need a lot more one-on-one training with a good dog trainer or behaviorist before a serious problem occurs.

All of our dogs, Schutzhund participants or not, are family dogs and are expected to behave appropriately in the house and out in public. I consider them to be the ultimate ambassadors for the breed.

I have two sisters to the adel haus dog you own... Both my girls are very well mannered with my kids I have 3 and my kids can pull bones out of their mouths and outside they are very respectful... while feeding my 2 and 5 yr old can be around both girls and put their hands in their bowls and they just back up and lay down its so cute!

You need to change this behavior. Start with adopting the additude the toys are yours, not the dogs. The dog can only borrow them. The toys are put up when you are not playing with the dog. You own them! Kids, dogs and toys can be a real problem, don't take it lightly.

Hi Winston, I had a bad experience by buying a working line dog thinking he would be a normal pet.
Fidu come from very haigh prey drive grandparents on the part of his mum:

Esko had children with very hard temper, all of them, but look at Indio:

he was disqualified, althogh now he is a schh3 because he was trained on different way. Fidu is exactly as he is, he was reised as a pet, but when the trainer failed and when he begun to kill my other pets i had to be rude with him in order to educate him thinking of his future (with me he es very sweet and kind but with strong temper). On the contrary on the part of his dad they are very dociles and I was told that his dad will be taken to Austria to compete, I knew some relatives from his dad and they were very dociles.
After this bad experience I will learn the pedigree before get other GSD working line, specially a male working dog for a pet o to guard the house. I know this sort of dog was breed for police not for pet. It is just my experience I was told that the females are eassier to train than males
