Hi all, new to this site. I have been looking for a gsd breeder in the Wisconsin area. I have found some, but one caught my eye... Von der Stadtrand. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the breeder. Most reviews I see are really good, but one website I found was the exact opposite. Thanks in advance. Also, if you have any other breeder recomendations, let me know.

You will ALWAYS find someone who doesn't like someone if you look hard enough. I have no personal experience with them, and as they have showlines, I know NOTHING about their dogs, but wanted to throw that in quickly as a general piece of advice. Weigh the good vs. the bad and see where each are coming from. Heck, I have people who cannot stand me, do everything they can to skew things and make me look bad, yet my puppy buyers are pretty much all my friends now...so, look at the source fo any info. you find.

i am also a breeder here in wisconsin, i produce very nice puppies. i dont feel the need to breed all the time. there are a few good breeders here in WI.
Tell me which breeders you have found so i can tell you which other ones may be worth a look.

also if you can give us a better idea on what kind of dog you are looking for, this will also help find the right breeder.

Thanks everyone who has replied or sent me a pm. I forgot about your site Trixx. I looked at it last year when you hade Cole? I believe.. I wanted to get him, but wasnt able to at the time. I know Ive found a couple other breeders in wisconsin and minnesota. katzel kennel, lane gsd's, vom haus miller, jerland, and a couple others I cant remember. I know a couple in that list I wouldnt deal with after what I have found. (Im sure you all know which ones). I am looking for a dog that has an excellent temperament, intelligent, and healthy of course. Just an all around good dog. I will not be showing or anything. Just a house pet that I can work with and train to do some things. Im currently living in minnesota, but will be moving to wisconsin rapids in a couple months. So if anyone else has any input, or any other breeder recomendations let me know. I will put your website on my desktop trixx, and keep an eye out for when the puppies come and you are taking deposits. But in the mean time, I want to keep looking and keep my options open. Thanks again!

Try Haus Miller, Steve and Connie have been at
this longer than some people have owned dogs
for
They work/train/health test their dogs,
and know their lines good/bad & ugly.
If you want to venture out of WI and into IL, there
are quite a few good showline breeders there too.

your welcome bud217, yes cole was a very nice boy so sweet and gentle and the focus he has was amasing for a showline, his drive was very good too.that litter was very strong in work. he lives in AL.
my prices are very reasonable.
i have excellent temp as this is my big problem with this breed, too many bad ones out there.
most of the kennels you said are good except , i would stay away from jerland. some are way over prices so that another thing you would have to decide on how much you are willing to spend.
i do alot of reseach before i breed and do all the testing too. and my next litter will be DM clear and yes they are titled.
how many breeders in wi test for that , not too many that i know of, but the choice is yours.

and are you looking for a male?
if i think of any other breeders i , tell you.

dont go to Fox wood kennels in De Pere they are not very good ,too many health problems

Thanks again trixx. Yes, I am wanting a male. I will be looking for a pup someone after May. I will look at the other breeders, but I think I'm going to keep you at the top of my list for when the time comes. Thanks everyone.
