That "article" you posted a link to looks like it's an advertisement some breeder posted to promote their "breed"
The most incredibly ridiculous statement shows just how this "breed" isn't worth taking seriously.
"Alsatians tend to live two to four years longer than German shepherds. The German shepherd breeding lines are riddled with health issues, while the Alsatian has been carefully bred to be a solid, healthy dog. Health problems haven't been seen in the Alsatian line since 2003"
The Shiloh, Tundra Shepherd and American Alsatian all fall into the same boat as far as I'm concerned. Breeders who had similar ideals of what they wanted in a dog, but each wants their own claim to fame.

Alsatian was adopted by the UK post World War 1 as anti German sentiment affected sales of the GSD, even a hundred years ago money was king.
WW2 just reinforced the name and in the UK despite the official position of the kennel club its still known as the Alsatian today, the vernacular.

As stated in other posts: the Alsatian is simply another name for the GSD. I think the writer of that "article" probably just needed to make something up to earn the $20 ehow pays for content.

I believe the Alsation in general is just what alot of British people call GSD's cause since the War everything connected to anything German was not wanted or accepeted
