Does anyone that was at the BSP or WUSV and saw Caro in action have any comments on the quality of this successful young dog ? He won both the BSP and WUSV yet some people say his protection work is not all that good and may decrease over time as he gets older. While others think he has a tremendous amount of potential beign the young dog that he is. Is he a great dog or a normal dog that is the product of a great trainer? I would appreciate any comments from any exprienced working dog people.

Hi jeffery see for yourself www.mohnwiese.de shows his protection phases at the BSP AND WUSV Cheers Lewis

Thanks Lewis. I did see last week the clips at www. mohnwiese and I have formed some opinion on this dog but I wanted to get the opinion of some other experienced working dog people to see what they say about this dog Caro. What's your opinion ? Jeffrey

by new on 16 October 2006 - 10:10

jeffrey, please build up your own opinion. biehler is a great trainer, there is no point to doubt. so you have to compare the result with his dog Balko last year and (see) the result with his new owner this year at wusv. may be you find an answer if this is the result of a great trainer or the dogs.

Balko with F. Biehler was place #17 in 2005 WUSV and place # 67 in 2006. same dog different trainer. That certainly tells the story of Balko. What's the predictions for Caro ? Jeffrey

by Katja on 16 October 2006 - 14:10

But Blako was place #2 on BSP 2006. Same trainer as WUSV 2006.

Katia good point! that's why I am asking experienced working people to give me an opinion on the quality of Caro, as one cannot always go by the recent scores in competition as there are always uncontrollable situations that can affect a dogs performance on a particular day. anyway, do you have any opinions on Caro ? Jeffrey

by Lewis_hartley on 16 October 2006 - 16:10

I would look at #1 place #2 place #3 place and so on and look at there protection phases. If you look at the scores this dog didnt score very high in protection compared to the other high scoring dogs. You had wallace payne with (98) Pierre Wahlstrom with (97) the 4 of out of the top 5 all scored better in protection than caro. But he had 3 very nice scores which obviously made him champion. And this dogs is only 2 1/2 years old if i remember rightly.

by Lewis_hartley on 16 October 2006 - 16:10

Its the 3!! scores that make you a champion.

Hello Jeffrey, Fritz is a great trainer. But also a good trainer need the material to form a Bundessieger and World Champion. Caro was on place 1 at the Bundessiegerprüfung and Balko, a litterbrother of Caro's mother Buffy, with another handler on place 2. This is not possible if the genetic is not good. In Randers Caro was 31 month old. In the last winter he had an injury and Fritz couldn't work him. They started their work a short time before the first qualification trial in spring. The whole season Caro had boost his performances. For breeding your question ("Is he a great dog or a normal dog?") is not important. Fritz don't give him free for breeding because he say that the dog is to young for that.
